What Is Invisalign For Kids?
Invisalign for kids is an alternative to traditional braces that uses clear, removable aligners to straighten teeth to gradually guide the teeth into proper alignment. Using fully digital scans we take here in-office, Invisalign aligners are custom-designed specifically for your child’s developing smile. We use a digital impression system, known as iTero, that allows us to create aligners that match every groove of the teeth for ultimate comfort and efficiency.
Invisalign has become one of the most popular orthodontic treatments and can correct a variety of issues, ranging from simple aesthetic fixes to major alignment adjustments.
Unlike braces, Invisalign aligners can be removed for eating, brushing, and flossing. The aligners should be worn for at least 22 hours daily for best results. In most cases, treatment takes 9–18 months, depending on the severity of the issues needing to be corrected. When Should My Child See An Orthodontist?
It is recommended that children should see an orthodontist around the age of 7. Here are a few things to look for that may mean your child needs to see an orthodontist:
- Early or late loss of baby teeth
- A hard time chewing or biting food

- Jaws that pop or make sounds when opening and closing
